The members of St. Matthew Lutheran Church actively support the following Local Mission programs through gifts of our time, talents and treasures.

LUTHERAN INTER-CITY NETWORK COALITION: Spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ by planting and encouraging new ethnic and immigrant Christian congregations in the Houston metropolitan area.

EAC providing help and hope to needy families and individuals in the form of food, clothing, and limited financial support.  

EAC CLOTHING CENTER
The Clothing Center of the Emergency Aid Coalition is located at 5401 Fannin and is open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. until 12 noon. Qualified clients are assisted in choosing items from a wide selection of used clothing donated by St. Matthew Lutheran Church and other supporting congregations. For more information call 713-522-0879.
Volunteers are especially needed on Thursday and Friday mornings.

EAC FOOD PANTRY
The EAC Food Pantry is located next door to the EAC Clothing Center, located at 5401 Fannin.  The Pantry is open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. until 12 noon.  Emergency groceries and sack lunches are provided between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.. Food and funds are donated by St. Matthew Lutheran Church and other supporting congregations.  For more information call 713-528-3663, extension 16.

EAC: FIRST TIME RENTAL ASSISTANCE
In case of an emergency, the EAC also provides funding for rental assistance. For more information please call 713-522-0677.

EAC: St. Matthew Volunteer Opportunities:
Prepare and pack sack lunches each Sunday between  9:00 - 10:00 a.m., at St. Matthew.  supply clean clothing, purchase or donate food & clothing items.(Place clothing and nonperishable food items in the designated areas located in the hallway by the back parking lot entrance of St. Matthew Lutheran Church.)
  Mahnke Hospital Chaplaincy Fund
MAHNKE HOSPITAL CHAPLAINCY FUND - Providing stipends to assist with the cost of training Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) students through the Chaplaincy office of the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.
  Lutheran Campus Ministries
LUTHERAN CAMPUS MINISTRIES:  Seeking and upholding a visible Lutheran presence at the University of Houston, inviting and welcoming international students to join us for worship and fellowship.
