Chancel Triptych

The Triptych,
or three-lancet,
stained glass window
in our Chancel
emphasizes
above all..

 "Christ in the
 State of Exaltation."

At the extreme top is the figure medallion of God the Father, flanked by winged angels
denoting God's messengers, while below are the descending doves
completing the Holy Trinity theme.

The center lancet contains the Crowned Christ figure
holding the orb and scepter, symbolizes
His triumphant and kingly office.

At the base is the Nativity scene.

The basis of the side lancets, too, contain events in Christ's life, i.e.,
Resurrection and Ascension, while the larger angels holding the censers
and scrolls indicate adoration. The IHS and PX at the top are the Greek abbreviations
of the Name Jesus.  The vine leaf borders symbolize "true believers abiding in the Lord."

The Alpha and Omega is taken from Revelations 22:13
"I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end."
