St. Matthew's Lutheran Women's Missionary League auxiliary is called The Ladies Circle. This auxiliary focuses on affirming each woman in her relationship with Christ to enable her to be in ministry among the people of the world.
In addition to being a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League, the Circle supports the Houston's Emergency Aid Coalition and the Seafarers, the Ladies Circle hosts many enjoyable events throughout the year. Some of their programs include interesting guest speakers, book reviews, an a wonderful annual February Sweetheart Luncheon.
A bit of history:
The auxiliary was organized by six women on January 21, 1926. Mrs. Metzler was the group's first president; Mrs. A. Lehmann, the vice-president; Mrs. L. Lottman, secretary; and Mrs. B.A. Lottman, treasurer. The new organization then voted to assess each member the sum of 25 cents per month for dues.
The Ladies Circle Service Workshop is an opportunity for members to work together serving others while enjoying beautiful Christian fellowship.
